The furniture industry’s 8% share in country’s employment

The third conference of DECO 2010 beheld while the conference promoters presented lectures and also they brought decorations to the conference center and they made a special stage for a precious sofa in a corner. The charter’s unveiling was the important event even as the great Cyrus’s charter was brought back to our country by the officials; the furniture industry’s activists made some similarities for this Old Iranian heritage for their program’s attractions.

 

This charter consists of 7 article and Interaction and cooperation, observing professional principles, showing respect to materialistic and intellectual rights, originality of design, environment preservation, observing national benefit, wisdom and awareness, customer orientation, healthy sale and human resources are this charter's provisions. In a report by Gostaresh Sana'at's reporter, the head of Parliament's economic commission pointed to the importing of nonstandard goods and hurting customers and producers and said import management is a necessity that some special association should observe. Arsalan Fathi poor said: Last year different types of furniture by the value of $100 million entered to our country that was 10 to 11 times greater than its export. The statistics show that we are importer rather than exporter and we should decrease the cost price by appropriate tact's.

He said the cost price for each kilogram of exported good was around $3.14; however, the imported price is around $2.22. This matter shows that we could not achieve competitive advantage in cost price.

Fathi Poor emphasized: It is clear that trade is always prone to difficulties and special challenges; unfortunately the number of required permits and the cost of starting an economic activity is high in a way that agencies cannot easily provide needed money from banks and financial institutes. The culture of using furniture is widely spread in villages so we should help this industry's craftsmen. The Parliment's representatives are ready to support specialized furniture industry's estate.

 According to this report the specialized furniture industry's estate is under construction in Zarandieh (Saveh) in 500 hectare to support domestic productions and expanding economics and in 3 years will be utilized.

The head of country's guild associations mentioned the Iran's furniture development comparing last decades and said: this industry's craftsmen should be supported in a way that the cost price in the country decrease and Chinese good do not enter to our country.        

Ghasem Node Farahani said: furniture has a great role in today's life and doctors advise to people who have physical problems and arthritis use furniture so the cost price of furniture should be low.

Ali Ansari mentioned the decoration and furniture industry management major and said: The most influential factor for developing this industry is having relationships with universities.

He indicated that Iran's furniture museum is going to complete and in near future it will be opened and its goal is making appropriate grounds for doing required research. He added: There are 60 thousand guild unions in the decoration and furniture sector and they specify 8% share in the country's employment directly and indirectly. And unfortunately this art-craft is not in a suitable position despite of high financial circulation.
