Furniture on museum

We had an interview with Mr. Ramin Samiee Zadeh, the consultant of head of Tehran's Entrepreneurial Society of Furniture, society secretary, secretary of the second and third international DECO conference and we spoke about DECO 2010 international conference, furniture industry outlook, forming furniture and decoration course and museum establishment.

  • - Tell us about DECO 2010 conference. How was it?
  • - The conference was received perfectly this year. It wasn't enough space on IRIB Conference Center, the place that all the gatherings held there, so we used the side halls. We had more than 1400 guests, Conference Center capacity is 700 people and we faced 100% increase. Because the halls were not sufficient and due to improvements in IT, about 216 people viewed lectures, workshops and meetings through our website and online. The conference had several special features, one of which was high reception. The other feature was for the first time, we unveiled furniture and decoration industry and guild charter that include 7 general principles. This charter observes ethical and professional principles.

Any craftsman, who wants to have moral, professional and healthy behavior according to modern standards and also wants to respect intellectual and spiritual right of other colleagues, will be committed to this charter. And also Mr. Ansari's book was unveiled; this book has different chapters on furniture and decoration industry and considered history, improvements, art history and also statistical view of this field. 6 workshops were held, 2 of them by foreign professors and 4 by Iranian. We had another exhibition which was held by companies and related organizations. This year's conference slogan was "furniture industry development". According to polls, the attendants were satisfied with the way of holding the conference. A remarkable point about this gathering is that in fact DECO conference is the main tribune of furniture, decoration and architecture industry that every year is held in September. Due to the high reception, a larger space should be allocated.

We can firmly say that this conference is the only place that this industry's main concept, which are guild, industry and university, are met and they exchange their ideas and experiences.

We updated articles were presented and to gatherings were held by the title of "opportunities and challenges of furniture and decoration industry" and "copy right".

  • - Isn't it better that these educational workshops and programs be more than a conference and repeated throughout the year?
  • - The society efforts according to infrastructural and developmental view of the board of directors and Mr. Ansari about strengthening industry's infrastructure, the software area is human resources and hardware is technological issues, by short-term training, conference and academic courses. People will see its results in short-term and long-term periods. We will have craftsmen who are familiar with modern scientific knowledge.

Another thing happened in Furniture Society due to IT improvements and we formed a multilingual website (Turkish, Arabic, Persian and English).

  • - Some time ago, Miss. Mokarram Khan Azim Ava, the Uzbekistan's minister of wood industry visited Iran. Talk about it.
  • - She highly appreciated Iran Furniture Markets. Yaftabad is the Furniture and decoration pole. No. 1, 2 and 3 markets will be inaugurated in near future. These markets are in accordance with modern standards to make customer satisfaction. The Uzbek committee who came to Iran, praised view.
  • - What were DECO conference achievements?
  • - One of the main achievements of Furniture industry and guild charter is this manifesto, whoever commits it, and respects copy right, individual rights, healthy sale, customers' rights and religious rights. Another achievement was association interactions, unifying them and designing 1404 outlook.
  • - Cluster in furniture industry is a new topic. Explain it please.
  • - Industrialized furniture cluster in under construction. We take some measures and we hope to continue it in Zarandiyeh industrial town, DECO Land.
  • - How is Decoration Town?
  • - We are constructing infrastructures sonly and we will announce some good news in near future. This town will provide all facilities such as mosque, gas station and etc.
  • - When Furniture Museum will be inaugurated?
  • - I guess it will be officially inaugurated in one or tow months in Yaftabad No. 1 market.
  • - How do you think about furniture industry's future?
  • - I believe this industry will have a clear future. This industry is a mixture of art and industry. We need governmental support in international aspects, especially for exporting. We can support craftsmen by reducing raw materials in order to make them produce products that can compete with imported goods and also be possible to export them.

Providing equipments to companies and factories and developing them can make it possible to compete internationally. If we import cheap raw materials, employment will be increased, factories will be activated and goods will be provided cheaply.

  • - Last word.
  • - I thank "Payam Sakhteman and Tasisat" journal that dedicated columns to decoration and architecture. I read your journal content, they are enjoyable. I hope you'll be successful and each day strengthen your relation with associations.
